The laboratory of Zoology in the University of Kurdistan is located on the fourth floor of the Faculty of Sciences. The laboratory considers educational and research objectives related to Zoology and Biosystematics of animals, and includes basic facilities for these purposes. The laboratory sessions are held in two parts of the invertebrates and vertebrates. Microscopic slides and animal macroscopic specimens are provided as well.

•    Examining the Structure and Diversity of Flatworms (Platyhelminthes)
•    Examining the Structure and Diversity of Roundworms (Nematodes)
•    Examining the Structure of Ringworms (Annelida)
•    Examining the Structure and Diversity of Arthropods
•    Examining the Structure and Diversity of Mollusca
•    Examining the Structure of Protochordata
•    Anatomy of the Vertebrates and Comparing the Anatomy of Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds, Mammals and Skeletal System Vertebrates
•    Microscopic Examination of Parasitic Taxa and the Method of Staining and Preparing Parasitic Worm Slides
In addition to the educational section, biosystematic animal studies include:
•    Scientific trips for sampling different taxa including cartilage and bony fish as well as the accompanying parasites
•    Identification of new species using morphological and molecular traits
•    Examination of the ecology of worm parasites
